Ana Peralta is Lisbon-born, London-raised writer with a background in journalism. She has written for publications such as Gal-dem and Teaching Drama, on everything from television reviews, to interviews with prominent authors such as “The Hate You Give” novelist Angie Thomas. She has worked on several short film projects, most prominently documentary film “Freedom ain’t free”, produced by Chocolate Films and nominated for a First Light Movie award for ‘Best Film’. Playwriting credits include “Overspill” for DreamArts and Cochrane Theatre and “Carnival! The Musical” which premiered at the Royal Opera House. After completing her masters degree in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media, at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, she was shortlisted for the Pandora Prize in playwriting for her short play “The Third Eye”, which was featured at Theatre Peckham as part of the Melanin Box Festival. She also dabbles in performance poetry, having written for the now Kiln Theatre’s Spoke Arts Clash Night and TedxUCL Women at the UCL University of London.
